When I started at Clay almost a year ago, I was a broken man (physically and spiritually). I had two prior back surgeries and was in the midst of debilitating pain that could require a third. With a baby on the way, I had to do something and I wanted surgery to be a last resort. I had been doing some physical therapy, but it wasn’t enough. I needed more. I saw Clay Fitness when out in Belmont one evening, and I decided to look into it. I am so glad that I did. A year later, I am able to be active with my son and I even started to golf again this summer, getting my first hole-in-one! Larger gyms are great for some people, but for me, I love the accountability that comes with having an appointment with a trainer. Susie started me off slow, focusing on flexibility and range of motion. She has gradually added in more strenuous exercises as my back has improved. While Susie pushes me, she also knows me well enough to change up an exercise when she sees on my face that it’s bothering me. That’s the kind of personal attention and care that you can expect from Clay, and it’s why they are more than a gym, they are a family.
